ABOUT US

Founded in 2013 in Everett, Washington, Baile Folklórico Colibrí is a nonprofit dance group dedicated to celebrating and preserving the beauty of Mexican culture. From our youngest dancers—just three years old—to adults, our members perform at events across Washington State, sharing the color, rhythm, and spirit of Mexico.

Our mission is to empower youth through cultural pride and artistic expression. By embracing their roots, students build confidence, identity, and belonging—strengthening the connection between generations and the community.

As our dancers spin, stomp, and twirl across the stage, Baile Folklórico Colibrí invites audiences to join us on a journey through the traditions, stories, and heritage that shape who we are.

WHY IT MATTERS

Preserving Mexican culture and traditions in the United States is vital—now more than ever.

  • Celebrating Diversity: Every dance and song adds to the rich cultural fabric of our nation, reminding us that our differences make us stronger.
  • Building Identity: For Mexican Americans, these traditions nurture pride, belonging, and connection to their heritage.
  • Fostering Understanding: Cultural exchange builds bridges—helping communities learn from one another and grow together in respect and unity.
  • Inspiring Education: Dance, music, and art bring history to life and provide powerful ways to teach, learn, and share stories across generations.
  • Honoring Heritage: Preserving folklore and tradition safeguards a living legacy for the next generation to cherish and continue.
  • Strengthening Community: Mexican traditions celebrate family, joy, and togetherness—values that uplift and unite us all.

At Baile Folklórico Colibrí, we believe that every step, rhythm, and color tells a story of resilience and joy. Together, we keep those stories alive—one dance at a time.
